We meant to write this post right after we returned from SUSECON 2025 in Orlando. Really, we did. We attended some awesome technical sessions. In between them, we met up with some great customers and partners-both old and new. And we also heard about some interesting future changes coming in various products.
But the moment we got back, we dove straight into a customer project. We set up a hands-on lab build for one of our Federal customers—and let’s be honest, that’s where the real magic happens.
Instead of just talking about our new SUSE certifications, we put them to work right away. The result? A lean, mean lab environment that models a full-scale SUSE ecosystem using minimal resources.
Here’s a sneak peek at what we’re running:
- Rancher Carbide + Rancher Prime for secure, enterprise-grade Kubernetes
- RKE2 as our hardened, production-ready cluster backbone
- Foreman for lifecycle management
- JFrog Artifactory + Hauler to simulate disconnected environments
- MinIO for S3-compatible object storage
It’s the real-world stack we love to see—built, tested, and tuned in-house before our customers even log in.
We’ll circle back soon with more technical deep-dives on what we built, how we’re using it for demos and proofs of concept, and why it’s such a powerful setup for edge and disconnected environments.
So yes, SUSECON 2025 was awesome. But we think you’ll like what’s coming next even more.
